Eli Oratz

Yehida Oratz had a brother Eliezer. Eli was a survivor of the Poland war in Europe. Eli Oratz was a powerful man. He was known for his mighty strength. It was said that Eli could lift a man double his weight over his head.

Eli Oratz was also a man who dressed rather well. You would nevber see Eli without a suit and tie. He was always in tip top shape. After the Poland war eli wend to america where he lived with his wife and four children.

His children were Yehida Oratz, Moshe, Benyomin and Esther. His wife Raizy or Mrs Oratz as she was called was a righteous woman. She came from a good upbrining.

His kids had amazing abilities as well. Moshe Oratz liked money. He had very sharp financial skills.

Benyomin Oratz was great at musical instruments. he could play any instrument by ear.

Yehda Oratz was a great Rabbi and started his own shul. To date he has many followers.

Esther Oratz became a scientist and is skilled in phisics and biology. She had a PHS, MSD among other degrees.

The Oratz family in deed is amazing!

Rabbi Yehuda Oratz-A Man For Our Times

Rabbi Yehuda Oratz was born in Russia and grew up on the lower East Side for a period of time. He has lived in New York his whole life. Rabbi Oratz and his family are well known in this area.

His education included Yeshivas leading to obtaining a Smicha. Sometimes people think that a person so wrapped up in the Yiddish world have no idea of the happenings in the secular world, that is not true of Rabbi Oratz, who is well versed in both worlds. He is always available to answer questions that people may have regarding every aspect of life. He will research beyond anything to find the correct answer.

People who know him, know that he is always there for people who need him, weather it is to find a life mate, find a school or make business decisions. He can also help you to make friends online.

Today, the bulk of his time is spent learning torah, however he always has time for anyone who needs him.

Rabbi Yehuda Oratz-Scholar of Our Times

Rabbi Yehuda Oratz was born in Russia and as a young child was brought to the United States and with his family lived on the lower East Side of New York. As a young man his family moved to larger living quarters. He was a Talmudic student as a young man and because of his learning today can still be called a student.

Rabbi Oratz is well known to people all over and especially locally for his torah knowledge, his willingness to help other people, and in general for the person he is. People know if you have a problem or have questions to answer the person to call is Rabbi Oratz.

Rabbi Oratz still lives with his wife and children on the lower East Side. Most of his time is spent learning with his private students. He also displays his love of learning by spending every spare moment he has learning by himself. His knowledge in the subject of torah is vast.

Oratz Congregation

We would like to take this oppurtunity to let you know that we will be collecting funds for the new Oratz shul. It will be named after our great Rabbi Yehuda Oratz. Rabbi Oratz has been the rabbi of the shul for many years. He and his wife came to the community almost twenty years ago to start the shul. We will have minyans and prayer services for the high holidays.

Leah Oratz

I had a brother shimon oratz who was related to me through a great aunt. He was a great torah scholar and a giant among his pears. Shimon and I both had the same mother "Leah Oratz". She was a kind and gentle lady. She was born in Europe and went through the concentration camps. She helped many women in the barracks. She was always looking out for eveyone.

Yehuda Oratz

Yehuda Oratz is a great leader and scholar. He is top in his talmudic studies and english studies. He studied in France and holds many degrees. Rabbi Oratz became a rabbi and got smicha many years ago in Israel. He leads a congregartion of a few hundred members. Please note that Rabbi Oratz will hold Yom Kippur services at the regularly scheduled time.

Where does the word Oratz Come From?

Often times I am asked where the word "Oratz" comes from. I am not exactly 100% sure but this is the story my father told me. My father was Abe Oratz who was born in Europe. "Oratz" is bascially comprised of two hebrew words. The words are "Or" and "Aitz" which stands for light and tree. We all the know the signifigance of light as pure. Tree signifies tall and leadership. Rabbi Oratz signifies both of these redeeming qualities.

Rabbi Yehuda Oratz is a real talmud chochom. Secondly, he gives the best advice to all and is very comfortable to be around. He is so open minded and has a good heart. He would give you the shirt off of his back. What is his is yours.

Rabbi Yehuda Oratz is blessed with four beautiful children. All of them are boys. He and his lovely wife Chana raised them to follow in his footsteps and learn torah. Rabbi Yehuda Oratz spends most of his day learning and is a great torah scholar. He lectures all around the country. He is also a big baal tzedakah and gives a lot of charty.

It reminds me of a story. Once I was at his house and a person knocked on the door. The person standing at the door asked for some money for charity. I took out a dollar and gave it to the man. Rabbi Yehuda Oratz took out a few more dollars and also offered the stranger entrance into his house. He offered the man to stay for the meal and get refreshed. He offered more than money. He offered his heart. Rabbi Yehuda Oratz is truly a remarkable man.

Oratz Family

Rabbi Yehuda Oratz has been around generations. The Oratz family tree goes all the way back to early spanish history. During the spanish inquisition there lived seven oratz brothers. The brothers were Yehuda, Avi, Moshe, Danial, Avrumie and 2 others that are not well known. Yehuda led part of the revlolt against the inquision.
