Life Story of Rabbi OratzRabbi Oratz is a very big Talmud Chachom. He was born during the early 1950's in Russia. Yehuda Oratz was always interested in learning. He was they type of person who was always asking questions and when no one would have answers he would go looking for them himself. Rabbi Oratz was the oldest of six children. He only had sisters. His parents were very tough on him to do well and try hard as he was the only boy. When Rabbi Oratz was thirteen he had his Bar Mitzvah. Oratz was so excited to reach that milestone in his life. His parents got him a tutor, or a Rabbi, to help him in his studies. Anytime that you would see Rabbi Oratz he would have a sefer in his hands. While all the other boys were out having fun playing ball and hanging out he would always be with his sefer learning. He loved to learn anything from Chumush, Mishnayos and Gemera. He was a knowledgeable boy. By the time that Rabbi Oratz reached his twenties he knew so much that many other people would come to him with questions. He almost always knew the answers and if he didn't, he would stay up all night searching for the correct answer for that person. At Age 27 He reached his goal of becoming a Rabbi and getting Simicha, as well as getting married. He and his wife moved to the Lower East Side where he started to teach in a Yeshiva there. His students were amazed by his way of teaching and his excitement in teaching. The boys loved him and looked up to him as a Rebbe. Many of his students kept in touch with him long after they graduated from Yeshiva. Rabbi Oratz still lives with his wife in the Lower East Side. He has five children of his own. He no longer teaches. He spends most of his time learning. Many of his students still come to him for advice. He has dedicated his live to Torah learning. He is a true Talmud Chachom. |
